CLA wants to hear from people with poor broadband connections
Post on: 2011-11-02 By: admin
THE Country Land and Business Association is hoping to hear from people in rural areas who are unable to access a fast affordable, broadband connection.
The aim is to collate evidence and publish on the internet during “Can’t Get Online Week”, the CLA’s alternative to the national “Get Online Week” which runs from October 30 to November 6.
To achieve this, the CLA has teamed up with internet and social media expert John Popham, who will interview people with broadband issues – and solutions – as part of a national tour.
On Wednesday November 2 Mr Popham will be visiting farms on the outskirts of Wray and will look at the community broadband at the Village Institute as well as the unique B4RN community broadband
Later in the day he will visit the IT suite at Westmorland Agricultural Society, Crooklands, and will be meeting broadband activists and a satellite provider as well as people with access issues.
Anyone with a story to tell or who would like to attend one of the events should contact Mike Ashton on 01539567597 or email mike.ashton@cla.org.uk
